Oil painting of a bear

This is the sketch of a bear. Painting the eyes and nose take some time but it is not a big challenge. This first step took me around two hours before the face of the bear  was set.

 

The  eyes of the bear are not balanced. Right eye is darkish so I have to lighten it later. The nose is fine tuned and hair is painted in several layers, fist brownish, then light yellow and finally mixed with dark brown, white and grey. It takes more patience than skills.

 

 

So this oil painting of a bear is finally done after seven lessons, a total of

fifteen hours. Some say it looks like a coyote than a bear. Well what is done is done and I will move onto my next painting. (21 May 2013)
